First “Show and Tell”.

“In the first couple of weeks Nola made several rough scale models (like quick sketches)of what could become large kinetic works incorporating solar technology. I took a risk and suggested to her that they were indeed very rough, but she assured me they should be seen as quick sketches only. And that she needed to produce a number that would be just cast aside – as things NOT to make. This puzzled me but she explained it by saying, ‘You’ve got to have compost!’ Here is a snap of her first presentation to the staff and students. The discussion was lively and especially exciting for this untrained observer. I was impressed with the generosity of the scientists in their comment and the broad range of their suggestions. I don’t know what I expected, but Nola assured me that this was an example of a truly interdisciplinary exchange. Not like the light bandying about of the term as is so often heard and endorsed in the world of contemporary art.” Permangelo E. Regularis
